RUN - TSUNAMI PREVIEWED AT FLOPPY 2005 RE-PREVIEWED AT DEADLINE 2005 FINALLY RELEASED ON 26.4.2005 A DEMO FROM BOOZE DESIGN - CODE AND LINKING BY HCL. ADDITIONAL CODE BY DANE. GRAPHICS AND MUSIC BY DANE. ADDITIONAL GRAPHICS BY HCL. MADE BETWEEN DEC.2004 AND APR.2005 WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE ORGANIZERS OFBOTH FLOPPY AND DEADLINE FOR ARRANGING DEMOPARTIES. WE ALSO SHOW OUR RESPECT TOTRIAD AND FAIRLIGHT FOR THEIR EFFORTS. - IN MEMORY OF ALL WHO ARE LOST AT SEA WWW.IFRC.ORG MAKE A DONATION - TSUNAMI PREVIEWED AT FLOPPY 2005 RE-PREVIEWED AT DEADLINE 2005 FINALLY RELEASED ON 26.4.2005 A DEMO FROM BOOZE DESIGN - OK, IF YOU WANT THE LONG STORY, THEN JUST KEEP ON READING.. IT WAS JUST BEFORE CHRISTMAS 2004, AND WE (DANE AND HCL) AGREED NOT TO MAKE ANYDEMO FOR THE FLOPPY PARTY 2005. BUT THENWHAT, A CHRISTMAS WITH ONLY FAMILY AND TRADITIONS? NO FURTHER CHALLENGE THAN THAT? NONO, DANE CALLED BACK SHORTLY AFTER AND WE DECIDED TO START WORKING ONSOMETHING. - THE JAPANESE DESIGN CODE AND THE SORT OFTRANSPARENT LOOK WAS AN EARLY IDEA, AND WAS USED MORE OR LESS FROM THE START. THEN THE TSUNAMI CAME, BUT NOT UNTIL A FEW WEEKS LATER WE STARTED TO TALK ABOUT USING 'TSUNAMI' AS THE DEMO NAME. IT WAS NOT A DECISION MADE IN 5 MINUTES.AFTER A WHILE WE AGREED THAT THIS WILL BE A WAY FOR CERTAIN COMPUTER NERDS TO REMEMBER WHAT HAS HAPPENED DURING THE YEARS, BESIDES WHO WON WHICH DEMO-COMPO. - NOW IT'S FOUR MONTH LATER. FOUR MONTH SINCE THE TSUNAMI, AND FOUR MONTH SINCE WE STARTED TO WORK ON THIS DEMO. I FEEL OK WITH IT. EVEN PROUD. IT'S FOUR MONTH OF HARD WORK, WHERE THE LAST TWO HAS BEEN UNDER THE PREASSURE OFRELEASING AN UNFINISHED COMPO-DEMO. I'M GLAD WE MADE IT, DIDN'T LET GO TOO FAST, AND GAVE THE DEMO WHAT IT DESERVES. - BUG FIXING TAKES TIME, AND I AM PROUD TO SAY THAT TO GET RID OF THE LAST BUGS I HAD TO TRANSFER SOME SOURCE CODE TO MY REAL C128 AND WORK LIKE IN THE OLD DAYS. SINCE THE EMULATOR DIDN'T SHOW THOSE BUGS, THAT WAS THE ONLY WAY. NOTHING BEATS THE FEELING OF CODING ON THE OLD MACHINE. EVENTHOUGH THIS DEMO ISMADE 99% IN EMULATOR, OTHERWISE IT WOULDHAVE TAKEN FOUR YEARS, CODING ON REAL HARDWARE BRINGS THAT EXTRA KICK!! - ALSO IF YOU THINK THERE IS A BUG ON THE IFLI-PICTURE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DEMO, TRANSFER IT TO REAL HARDWARE AND CHECK AGAIN. BING!! THE BUG IS GONE. BETTER CONSULT YOUR LOCAL EMULATOR DISTRIBUTOR AND MAKE HIM/HER DO SOME IMPROVEMENTS. TALKING ABSTRACTLY, TODAYS BOOZE DESIGN DEMOS ARE FOCUSING MORE ON DESIGN THAN ON BOOZE. HOW ABOUT CHANGING THAT FOR THE NEXT PRODUCTION!? - ..SAVING YOU FROM MORE CRAPTALK, THE NOTE ENDS HERE. INTERACTIVE FORUMS ARE BETTER SUITED FOR IT, SO SEE YOU THERE. /HCL 24.4.2005. - OK, IF YOU WANT THE LONG STORY, -
